Racketlon season 2009 is here. The coming months will bring with them some exciting and fun challenges in the form of the newest sport to hit the Cape Shores. The events will be well organized and a social day for all. Exercising and enjoying time with friends and family is the order of the day.

There’s no better time than now to start training and improving one self.

2008 Racketlon season saw Merold Ruiters take the WP Open and the first time a ladies and Juniors category was introduced saw Nadya Ritchewald and Angelo Yiatses take the podium respectively. SA Open Men’s winner was David Darlington. Ladies winner Iria Gabel and Juniors Mitchell Nixon. The 2nd Cape Open saw the defending champion victor again, Stephen stephen profile.jpgCoppinger. Ladies winner Nadya Ritchewald and Juniors Mitchell Nixon.

Congratulations to all the winners.

One of Racketlon’s star players Stephen Coppinger is doing extremely well on the PSA international squash circuit. Stephen is steadily moving up the world rankings and is at a solid 62. Keep it up Stephen.

In what is referred to as the “Grand Finale”, The International Racketlon Federation hold the World Championships at the end of each year. 2009 sees this amazing end to the year in Nurnburg Germany. Gold medals and the title of Best Racket player in the world will be up for the taking. Sweden dominates but SA hasn’t competed yet and will do so for the first time in history.
